Aquarius innovations bv products are made up of a patented hydrogel and natural fibers. The composition of this patented hydrogel and the natural fibers (jute, flax, hemp) can be adjusted to the specifications of the customer. In this way we can achieve optimal humidity. Our products have the following environmentally friendly advantages:

Flower box liner

The flower box liner is suitable for various sizes of flower boxes. It promotes stronger, healthier plant growth by maintaining optimal moisture levels.

Transport liner

Using less water results in lower transport weight, reduced fuel consumption, decreased nutrient loss, and a significant reduction in carbon and nitrogen emissions. Upon arrival, the liners continue to support the plants, leading to substantially lower product loss at the end of the journey.

Bottom liner

The growth liner is placed at the root level of plants and trees—either in the soil or in pots—and ensures optimal, long-lasting moisture retention. This function significantly improves irrigation efficiency, which is increasingly important as weather conditions become more extreme and water and energy must be used more consciously. Choosing this solution supports more resilient planting systems and contributes to climate-adapted cultivation.

Roll material

The grow liners are available in standard widths ranging from 50 cm up to 8 meters (the larger widths being less practical to handle) and in lengths from 50 to 100 m². All dimensions can be fully customized to meet the customer’s specific requirements.

Laboratory Plugs

The plugs have been specifically developed for laboratory use and can be supplied in a sterile condition. They are intended for the cultivation of plant cells and are available in standard dimensions of 1 × 1 × 2 cm.

Hydroponic Plugs

This plug is widely used in hydroponic systems because it effectively retains water and nutrients and releases them gradually. This results in a significant reduction in resource usage. Due to its efficient performance, growers can even achieve an additional harvest.

Vertical farming

We tailor the material composition to the customer’s specific needs and work together to determine the proportions that deliver the best results. Our plant plugs are available in a wide range of sizes and material combinations, all of which can be customized. For short-term crops, we deliberately select fiber blends and formulations that are optimally suited to their growth cycle.

Tree Nurseries

Thanks to the use of tree plugs, losses during the growth process can be reduced by 40 to 60%. As the tree develops and requires relocation, a growth liner in disc form can be placed around the root system. This ensures significantly longer moisture retention in the soil, making trees far less vulnerable to stress caused by extreme weather conditions.

Tree transport mat/liner

In the transport of trees, plants, and flowers, large amounts of water are traditionally used to keep products hydrated during the journey. By using our growth and transport liners, up to 75% of water consumption can be saved. The liners absorb 18 to 22 liters of water per m², while the hydrogel coating absorbs 50 to 70 times its own weight, ensuring consistent moisture throughout transport. Using less water results in lower transport weight, which reduces fuel usage, minimizes nutrient losses, and decreases carbon and nitrogen emissions. These benefits apply to both national and international transport of trees, plants, and flowers. Upon arrival, the liners continue to support the plants, leading to significantly lower loss rates and healthier trees, plants, and flowers at the end of the journey. The liners are also available in customized sizes to meet specific transport requirements.

Hanging baskets

Our product range includes various discs with diameters of 25, 40, and 50 cm, as well as custom-made sizes for hanging baskets. In village centers and downtown areas, these discs are often tailored to fit specific basket designs. After the season, they can either be reused or mixed into the potting soil for the next planting cycle.
